Department of Health launches revalidation pilot scheme

Ten revalidation pilots including more than 3,000 doctors have been launched by the Department of Health.

The pilot studies are the next stage towards introducing the system, expected to roll out next year, in which all doctors practising in the UK will need to have their licences revalidated by the General Medical Council every five years.
