Update published on changes to the shortage occupation list

The UK Border Agency's new shortage occupation list for international recruitment comes into effect on 14 December 2009 for tier 2 of the points-based immigration system.

The UK Border Agency has published the list after the Government accepted the recommendations in the Home Office Migration Advisory Committee's second partial review of the shortage occupation lists for the UK and Scotland, submitted on 21 October 2009.
