More medical posts added to shortage lists
The UK Border Agency has published a new national shortage occupation list which came into force on 15 June 2009. The main change for NHS employers is the addition of a number of non-consultant, non-training medical posts to the list.
The changes have come about as part of the assessment of skill shortages in the UK by the Home Office Migration Advisory Committee which undertakes a review of the shortage occupation list every six months with a full review every two years.
