Chancellor holds fast to 2 per cent pay limit
The Chancellor, Alistair Darling has made it clear that the government intends to stick to its 2 per cent pay limit for the public sector.
In his Budget statement, Mr Darling said: ‘The success of the Monetary Policy Committee and the resilience of the UK economy is clear. Energy prices have tripled since 2002, but over this period inflation has averaged just 2 per cent.
